The aromatic composition opens with a sparkling accord of black and pink pepper, highlighted by incense. Freshness and elegance are brought by the combination of geranium and nutmeg, accompanied by balsamic and woody notes. Sweet elemi meets with tonka bean on the base and softens the masculine combination of patchouli, cedar and vetiver.
History of fragrance
The Amouage Honour fragrance is inspired by the famous story of Madame Butterfly, the geisha who marries an American and waits in vain for three years for his return. The reference is to the final scene of Giacomo Puccini's 1904 opera, in which the main character (called Butterfly) cannot bear her tragic fate and commits suicide. The male version of Amouage Honour symbolizes Madame Butterfly's son, taken to America by his father. It tells the story of the grown-up son who remembers his mother and experiences a certain humility. At the same time, the fragrance is an elegy, a tribute and an appeal to memories.
